Torbjörns main research focus is on anthropogenic influences on the structure and function of boreal and sub-arctic forest ecosystems – including vegetation changes and effects on biodiversity. His experience of forest history research on historical Sami forest utilization is significant for the study of early historical land use – specifically in relation to utilization of natural resources and reindeer herding.
